The land area is about 158 km2, the population is more than 12,000, and the population density averages 78 people per km2. The uniqueness of this township include Amis Fata’an culture, Amis Afalong culture, sugarcane culture, Oryza sativa (Asian rice), red glutinous rice, black glutinous rice, arrow bamboo shoots, betel nuts, tree peas, lotus buckwheat (fire onion), ice products, wood carving, weaving , coffee… etc.

阿美族主要居住在花蓮、台東及台11線公路秀姑巒溪附近，花蓮縣光復鄉因地理位置的關係，保存了有很傳統的阿美族文化，他們自稱為「吃草的民族」，食用很多野菜，因此發展出獨有的飲食文化，在今日很多阿美族的野菜，已發展成為都市裏餐廳的美味佳餚。
我們將在光復第一市場內，看到常見耳熟能詳的蔬菜品種，及許多新奇、有趣、古怪的各色植物。透過在地野菜老師的解說，了解這些似曾相似的各累野菜與在地部落的關係，文化傳承的意義、故事，以及料理使用方式。
光復鄉的太巴塱紅糯米生活館，是由一群部落的青壯年，回鄉發展就業下的成果之一，青年們對部落的文化有了認同感，一點一滴找回部落的故事，而這些故事又點亮了族人們的希望，並開始從長輩們的生活中，找到傳統、找到創新，找到方向、找到希望，太巴塱紅糯米生活館就是集結了大家的希望而成就的結晶。
太巴塱部落的紅糯米，自從遠古時代以來，就是珍藏下來的部落極品，每當招待遠方貴客，都會以紅糯米蒸煮料理成糯米飯或Toron共享，我們將以愉快歡心的心情，聽紅糯米的故事，做紅糯米的體驗當點心。
吃好喝好了嗎？下午我們來到具有百年「蔗工」歷史的大和社區，大和社區有著近百年歷史，早年日本人在這塊由青山環繞、地靈人傑的好地方建村，並以日本國族之名為其命名，稱之為「大和」﹙日音 Yamato﹚，意即如同日本國族～大和王朝般富裕興盛，順便藉以遙寄思鄉之情，日據時期的「大和村」轄內設有大和保（今大富村）、管真保（今大豐村）、剛界保（今大興村）、第一農場（今已廢除的大農村）等四個保；而現今附近住民口中的「大和」則主要包含大富村及大豐村兩個村落。相鄰以花東鐵路為界，但實為一個共同生活圈，西側為大豐村，舊稱「車頭頂」；東邊則為大富村，舊稱「車頭腳」；大富火車站前商圈﹙今明德路﹚則稱為「店仔街」。是日治時代「鹽水港製糖株式會社」原料工人居住的地方，通稱「大和社區」或「富豐社區」。居民以閩南、客家人居多，極少數為原住民、外省人，所以這裡原本是一個熱鬧的蔗工移民村，所種植的甘蔗供應著光復糖廠（現改為花蓮光觀糖廠）製糖所需的原料；但隨著廠停爐，蔗工也隨著時間被淡忘。
大富社區發展協會為了推廣黑糖產業活化活動，針對遊客設計社區的文化導覽及炒蔗糖的體驗，希望藉由導覽解說及親自動手的體驗活動，喚起民眾兒時的記憶，讓沉寂許久的蔗糖文化再度飄香，重現輝煌。

We suggest a half-day trip,

l Charges
We collect “Handling Charge” according to number of participant. Other charges (eg. material, instructor, transportation, tour guide, meal & insurances) will be reimbursed with receipts & invoices.
12－18 people: NT$500/person
19－25 people: NT$400/person
CHARGES FOR A FULL ENGLISH TOUR GUIDE WILL BE DIFFERENT.
Handling charges including costs of contacting operators (such as paperwork, telecommunication) and field trips with students etc.
Any operators/alliance/personal members or tourists that willing to participate in our tours, it means to understand and accept the rules of declaration of expenses and other related procedures of TCU.
