Many of you might have tried cinnamon flavored pastries or sweets, but do you know how cinnamon itself taste like? I believe that it tastes different to everyone, but the only thing I remember about it was my mom would feed me with cinnamon leaves or roots when I have a stomachache. And it always worked! Sometimes we would boil water with cinnamon leaves and drink it, and then it would make our stomach and body warm. When my family used to be very poor, and I would eat cinnamon leaves and tree roots as sweets.

The indigenous cinnamon has a special fragrance, with sweetness spicy taste. In order to commemorate my mother and, I was curious about its effects, when the government responded to the afforestation policy, we chose to plant the Taiwan native indigenous cinnamon in the farm, which was often consumed by family members and shared with relatives and friends after that. We surprisingly found that cinnamon can not only add flavor to the ingredients, but also has a peculiar impact on the health of the body.

This tour will be learning about the value of the roots, stems and leaves of cinnamon trees through collecting of cinnamon leaves. Cinnamon tree is an ingredient as well as a traditional medicine.
